While the iconic signage has been updated, the station’s owners, as well as its essence and charm will endure, maintaining its culture of excellence.

Why The Nationwide Change to Astron Energy?

Since 2018, Astron Energy has been operating the Caltex brand under a license agreement with Chevron. Over the next few years, all Caltex branded service stations in South Africa and Botswana will be rebranded to Astron Energy in a phased manner. This makes Astron Energy the overarching brand across the corporate, commercial, and retail channels of the business.

With a rich legacy spanning over a century, Astron Energy reaffirms its position as a leading – and proudly South African – energy provider with aspirations to become South Africa's next biggest fuel brand.

The renowned Caltex brand will be respectfully retired. As replacement, Astron Energy is proud to unveil a vibrant new identity, featuring an eye-catching orange and purple colour palette. This modern rebranding not only reflects Astron Energy's pledge to deliver cost-effective, dependable, and cleaner energy solutions, but also signals the progressive rebranding of over 800 Caltex service stations throughout South Africa.

 

Reflecting on the History of Caltex Safari Motors

Over the past decade, Caltex Safari Motors has made significant strides in evolution and progress. In 2014, Alma and Geoff Goetsch assumed management of the long-standing service station. A notable milestone for the business was the celebrated grand opening of the popular Freshstop Convenience Store and Seattle Coffee Co on 1 March 2018. Under the Goetsch's leadership, the store has thrived as a family-operated venture, leaving a lasting influence on the local community.

Six years beyond that pivotal moment, the dedicated team at Astron Energy Soutpansberg is excited to begin this new chapter with Astron Energy. With a reinvigorated brand, high expectations and new prospects, they are poised to reach new heights of success.
